Accomodation could be more central. Thought that the entire tour group should be in one accomodation rather than split up in different hotels. Would be great to have more free time on the tour to wander around on your own.

I was part of the first group that Encounters took to Sierra Leone so we were the guinea pigs for a new tour and this was rather apparent. Paid for side trip to varanasi and it turned out we spent half there than expected due to flights chosen, left late evening instead of after lunch. Left for dehli at 8am, and then we spent 8 to 10 hours at international airport waiting for flights back to Australia. Some of hotels needed refit, and I would no longer consider 4 star. Bus used was old, bad suspension rattled, and had old style windows. So not o lying uncomfortable after sitting for 2 hours which happened most days but hard to take good pictures. Varanasi extension turned out to be 1 day and 2 nights instead of 3 days and 2 nights. Jordan Express - should revert the name of this tour to Jordan on a Shoestring

We did the Jordan Express tour with Encounters Travel in May 2023. Petra was a highlight but guide was very average - quite lazy. According to the Encounters website, this tour was previously called Jordan on a Shoestring but has been renamed to Jordan Express to reflect a maximum group size of 18 and better quality hotels.
